Geotextile containers are currently used in the handling of mud and sand that originates during the dredging of Montevideo Bay in the context of the Capurro fishing terminal project. This arises in part due to the port area that was granted to UPM, leaving no space for fishing boats that therefore must be transferred.

The tubes are manufactured with a textile that allows the passage of water through its pores and placed on the ground next to each other, also generating a kind of tissue similar to the epidermis.
